Section 9. - Caring for Persons with Mental Health Issues – Best Practices and Experience Sharing

Caring for people with mental illness are currently facing many challenges. Before the planned reform of psychiatric care pushes through it is necessary to create (even under existing conditions) such system that would allow to improve the quality of life of persons with mental illness. One way is to improve the quality, accessibility and interconnection between necessary health and social services. It is also necessary to reduce the rate of rejection and stigmatization. Many people with mental illness are still placed in psychiatric hospitals. Global experience shows that it is much more rewarding to transfer care to the community that these people can live in their social environment. And with the help of necessary services as soon as possible to return them to normal life.
